Volunteer

Volunteering with the UNM parent programs is a great way to connect families to the university. Join the network of parents, grandparents and others engaging with families in a meaningful way while also providing a service to the university. Training will be provided.

Kathy has established a listserv for parents who are interested in volunteering with the association so they can be notified about upcoming opportunities. Parent Orientations/Discover UNM Information Fair
Need 4 parent volunteers to staff association’s information table to share information about parent programs

Fall Semester Move‐In Week
Need up to 10 parent volunteers to to greet, inform and assist families and students during residence hall move‐in days.

Freshman Family Day
Need up to 20 parent volunteers to help to greet and inform thousands of family members of incoming freshmen – held on main campus on the Sunday afternoon preceding the start of fall semester 2010.

Family Weekend (Oct. 23 – 24, 2009)
Need up to 20 parent volunteers to help during registration and other events — greet and inform hundreds of family members of incoming freshmen – main campus

(Monthly) Parent Talk Series Need 4 – 6 parents to meet and greet parents as they arrive for the workshops — from 5:30 – 6 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in the Dean of Students Conference Room, Student Services Building, main campus (Workshops held from 6 – 7 p.m.)
