Living on campus? Housing and dining changes due by Nov. 30

Is your student living on campus? It’s time to update housing contracts and meal plans for Spring Semester 2009 by no later than Sunday, Nov. 30.

Although UNM housing contracts are for the full academic year, students have the option to update meal plans if needs have changed. Students can also apply to move to a different hall or room for the spring semester by completing a spring option room change request at the residence hall front desk. 

Residence Life at UNM has several programs to ring in the holiday season.  Encourage your son or daughter to attend the following events:  

  • Thanksgiving Buffet
    • Tuesday, Nov. 25, 49pm at La Posada Dinning Hall — Thanksgiving Dinner! Ham and Turkey, Sweet and Mashed Potatoes, Green beans with Almonds, Stuffing, Fresh Cranberry Sauce and Salad!  
      Hey Vegetarians! They didn’t forget about you. Enjoy Hubbard Squash Stew w/ tofu, Wild Rice Stuffing, Fresh Cranberry Sauce and Vegan Chocolate Tofu Moose. 
      Not to Mention… Black Forest Cake, Caramel Apple Pie, Pumpkin Bread Pudding, Egg Nog, Cider, Tres Leche and so much more!
  • Hanging of the Greens
    • Friday, Dec. 5, – Join in on Lighting Residence Hall Luminarias and Sing Christmas Carols across Campus!
  • Late Night Breakfast Fiesta
    • Monday, Dec. 15, 9-11pm – Get a late night boost while studying for finals — enjoy a tasty breakfast in La Posada Dinning Hall

Students invited to comment on UNM Master Plan update

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to an Open House regarding the update of the UNM Master Plan Thursday, Nov. 13, from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. in SUB Ballroom B. Share your thoughts and questions on the preliminary Master Facility Planning efforts for the Main, North, South and Rio Rancho Campuses. See how each of the campuses are being unified to create a comprehensive roadmap for future development. An overview presentation will be given during the open house at 12:30pm followed by interactive sessions with the planners on each part of campus.

Future UNM families invited to engineering open house Nov. 8

engineering inviteProjects ranging from designing surgical innovations to developing tomorrow’s Internet will be demonstrated at the UNM School of Engineering Open House on Saturday, Nov. 8. The open House will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the new Centennial Engineering Center on the UNM main campus. High school students interested in engineering, computer science and construction management are invited along with their families, guidance counselors and teachers.

Visitors will be able to see the latest technologically advanced labs, hear about the school’s top‐ranked programs and meet internationally recognized faculty. Each of the five academic departments will show creative solutions to global challenges and UNM students will be on hand to discuss their projects and research.

There will also be presentations on financial aid, scholarships, student support programs and admissions. Refreshments will be served.
